I’m most proud of my two terms as ASB Director of Communications, the student spokesperson for the ASB and faculty. The job demands proficiency in graphic design, public speaking, and time management; responsibilities include creating posters, broadcasting PSAs, commentating class competitions, and sending weekly emails to an audience of 1600 students. I’ve led two ASB committees to coordinate our school’s Stanford Blood Drive and FairTrade Initiative. I’m also the go-to guy who answers all students’ general questions. How many times a week does an email from a complete stranger pop up in the inbox?
I Peter Walton should be selected as a member of the National Honor Society because I have clearly portrayed the four characteristics:character, leadership, service and scholarship both in and out of school. I have shown character in school by treating others with kindness and respect and have earned the citizenship award twice during my high school career. Also I work as a cashier at a restaurant and as such I must be very patient with all the customers which has made me grow in character. I have demonstrated the quality of leadership by assisting in class decisions as vice president and secretary, and by leading a second pardeeville curling team to the state tournament. In addition, I was a VBS group leader, meaning that I had to look after
In the program, you have to write articles and every time I write one, I can see that I am improving and using larger vocabulary. Also, if I had been in the program longer, I would have been more prepared to run for New York State Dairy Princess. I did not have as much knowledge as the girls who have been in the program longer than me. If I had a do-over, I would have had more knowledge and would have known how the program would change me
Outside of receiving a great education, I think the program really focuses on creating leaders and community members. The program also has a great network of alumni, not to mention the campus looks amazing,” was Ajjarapu’s response when I asked him why he wanted to go to the University of Virginia and his desire towards the Jefferson Scholarship. There is no doubt that, if Ajjarapu receives the Jefferson scholarship, he will be put in the position to succeed through the
It is important to be focused and successful academically, but it is also important to be involved on your college campus. Involvement is key, and it can lead to many life-long friends, opportunities, and experiences. Since involvement is so important, it would be great to be involved in a program that caters to your own college experience directly. Most programs I work for have no relation to my major or my business school experience. I thought by being involved with ambassador program will aid in furthering my knowledge of what Culverhouse has to offer and more about my own major.
Being selected and serving in The National Honor Society would truly be a honor. Being selected into this program would be important to me because of the opportunities it offers. I have heard of The National Honor Society but never had to the chance to serve in it. This being my first time would really allow me to immerse myself in beneficial learning and serving along side my peers. I will be able to expand my leadership skills while being able to serve my community that I longing wanted to give back to because of all it has given me throughout my life here in Columbus.
I feel that I should be considered for the National Honor Society Committee for an abundant number of reasons. Though I cannot list all of the reasons why, due to this paper having to be so short, I will give two phenomenal reasons why I should be elected. First, I stay forward-looking while also being straightforward with my education and work. I always plan ahead while invariably going through with what prevails to be most significant, that of which is my education. I always try hardest to accomplish everything possible to assist me to predominate in school and am always looking for an opportunity to go further on in life.
Being able to connect with the community and with my peers will be a valuable and unforgettable experience. Not only will I be able to learn from the community, but from my fellow peers, medical students, high school students, and other undergraduates as well. Getting to me mentored by people who have done what I want to do will be enriching, it’ll be an experience that ill cherish forever. Creating long lasting friendships with people who have similar interest.
It is an opportunity to evolve both academically and as individuals. Academically it opened it opened opportunities to improve my scholastic capability, through deliberation courses, sociology, social issues courses, leadership courses, and projects such as the capstone project. It even broadened my knowledge of nature with classes such as weird plants, epidemiology etc. On the other hand, I am fortunate to be in a trio program because it was a tremendous guide and support through the process of applying and visiting colleges.
Through my experience I realized how much I enjoy meeting, interacting, influencing and speaking with new people. I love to help people through communication. I'm infatuated with intellectual interactions where people can creatively express their self while challenging the mind. The Cathy Hughes school of communications will be the best place and only place I see myself excelling at. Cathy Hughes herself was such an inspiration.
This program has given me the skills I need to adapt to new problems that I would not have anticipated the day before and to have a strong work ethic. Through this group project and the numerous assignments I've had throughout college, I've improved my time-management abilities and learned how to set priorities more effectively. Not only from the coursework but also from the connections to Christ made in
I feel as if this program will better myself as a student; to do better in life; and seek the highest ideals for myself. Along with that, I plan to use
Starting the success program, I met great people who are going to take every step with us making sure we do our best. To be apart of the program, means i have done something good to deserve this opportunity , it also gives me a head start. Learning what it would be like to be a college student is a very big step, but not only does it keep my mind at ease knowing that everyone is there to help, it also means growing up and finding out what it is I want to do at Washburn
This program membership will open new doors for me and make my high school and college experiences so much smoother. I think I will really benefit from having the college courses intermixed with my high school classes because I will be learning higher level information along with the high school work to challenge myself in Montco while having time in Pottstown High School to work on my electives. The program would keep me focused on
It has impacted me in a great way in skills such as optimism, confidence, creativity, commitment in each assignment, among other benefits. I have used the activities I have learned in the program in other extracurricular activities such as after-school clubs. In the different outreach with the freshmen. The roles that I felt most comforted with is ... On the other hand, there are others that have cost me more.
