Steve Jobs: The Man Who Thought Different “Why have a flat display if you're going to glom all this stuff on its back? Why stand a computer on its side when it really wants to be horizontal and on the ground?” (Steve Jobs pg217/218). These are a few famous words from a man who created one of the best super-companies in the world: Steve Jobs. Steve always found a way to think differently about everything in the world. This essay will cover Jobs growing up, and what early life was like for him, how mechanically and electronically inclined he was, starting his new business, creating new inventions and technology, and his legacy left behind. “He ‘was a sort of genius with his hands. He can fix anything and make it work and take any mechanical thing apart and get it back together’”(Paul Jobs pg9). Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. His biological mother, Joanne Schieble, had put him up for adoption, because she couldn't take care of him. Clara and Paul Jobs, a young couple waiting for a baby, had jumped to the chance of adopting young Jobs. They had decided to name him Steven Paul Jobs. Jobs spent hours upon hours calling investors to gain funding to help afford the expensive “Apple I” computer. The investors didn't like how the “Apple I” was its own separate computer; no screen, keyboard, or any other components except the necessary parts for the motherboard. After a few weeks, Jobs had finished production of the 100 units to sell to the electronics store only funded by the items Jobs and Woz had sold to afford the parts. They had sold about enough computers to make about $1500.
