“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently, they're not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world ” (Steve Jobs). This statement from Steve Jobs is what I believe drove him to his success. Jobs believe in if you don’t like the job you’re doing then don’t do it and don’t limit yourself and don’t listen to people judgment, do what you want and believe in yourself and your abilities. First, along with Jobs’ innovative appeals, he was eventually able to become so rich because of his great speaking and communication skills. Many people are only aware of Steve Jobs, however contrary to belief Jobs never did the engineering or technical work. While Wozniak was fascinated by the pure design of a computer, Steve Jobs was more interested in finding a way to sell a lot of them. T.J Walker who writes about effective communication illustrates that in his article “Why Steve Jobs Was the Ultimate Communicator,” he says that “Jobs never let the fact that he was a techie and generally speaking to a tech audience turn his speeches stale with an overload of jargon. He knew that he needed to connect on a human level and speak about what a regular person wanted out of a product rather than just spewing out impressive specs and features” (Web). Jobs could speak with desire and make his ideas clear and unforgettable through his stories and demos. He focused on one idea at a time and did not muddle what he was saying by having busy PowerPoint slides behind him. Next, another thing about his communication skills is speaking from the heart. George Ilian says “In Apple first shareholder meeting, Jobs took the floor with a prepared speech, but a short way into the meeting he abounded his script and spoke from the heart. Investors bought into the jobs brand, and that of Apple, and his charisma” (Illian,10). This ability to speak so eloquently never came effortlessly. Also, what made Steve Jobs an effective communicator is his public speaking skills.
