Business Ethics and Bill Gates: Considering the Good and the Bad Bill Gates is the wealthiest man in the world, and is equally well known for his work in computer software and programming and his charity work. His business prowess, innovativeness, and high expectations for employees and peers have driven a company that is ruthless, in its practices. However, since shifting his focus toward charity, he has gained a reputation for his compassion, empathy, and focus on social issues that matter. A leader to me is someone who can create something no one would normally make. Anyone can say they can build a house, but many few can actually build a house as tall as the tallest structure New York Leaders are made in many forms and industries. They can be small or big as a skyscraper and create something from scratch like Bill Gates, whom was a predetermined destiny to be a lawyer like his father or be in an organization like food banks, and volunteer ships. Some people follow their parents or someone else’s destiny or be the lone wolf that did what the others didn’t for example if your mom was in the army, you’d try to not join the army and do something else like being a doctor or helping people in need. I don’t know about you but with having the same name but different roman numerals it could be different to distinguish but
I think the best fit would be Steve Jobs and the Apple Company he invented 1976. Apple started off in a really rough start but Steve Jobs did not give up on his business. He was motivated and determined to keep trying to get it right. While Steve was in high school, he confidently gave a call to Hewlett-Packard, the co-founder and head William Hewlett. Jobs called to ask for parts for his project at school.

2. THE STRUCTURE To begin with, the simple structure of his speech created the scene in the mind of his audience. The first technique followed by Steve Jobs was story telling, by divide the whole speech into three simple parts, the stories, closing and conclusion managed to gain audience attention. By giving a clear and straightforward introduction he prepared the audience what the whole speech is all about from the beginning. “Today I want to tell you three stories from my life.

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, did the work, and give orders. Instead teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea” (Saint-Exupéry, 1948). This perfectly describes Steve Jobs. He was a leader with passion and clear vision who directed his people and got extraordinary achievements. While many believed him to be a transformational leader, others see him as a toxic leader.
