There are so many joys that a cell phone can bring a person, and many people these days rarely leave the house without their cell phone because it is the connection to their social life. The cell phone is the one piece of technology that allows people to communicate and socially engage with others no matter where they go. The cell phone is the ultimate mobile connector to information, friends, and communities. However, when cell phones are used while driving, they could be a weapon of destruction caused by distraction. Texting and driving is an epidemic that is a danger to our society. Statistics show that 1 out of every 4 accidents in the U.S is caused by distracted driving, and that texting and driving is 6 times more likely to cause an accident than drinking and driving (Texting and Driving Statistics, 2017).
