Uniting Communities as an organisation has a vision to build strong and supporting communities to help people realise their potential and live the best they can. Keeping in mind with the vision of the company, the pieces of work that is done has reflect towards the goals of the organisation. Within the project, there are sub groups that does different materials for the organisation. The first group being the journalists works hand in hand with the filming students who were producing a video and interviewing staff and clients of Uniting Communities. Media releases are important as the work can be sent to various different companies and it can be featured as different mediums to promote the awareness campaign. The other thing is the fact that media releases are very important in reaching through different target audience through different medium. A media release can be published together with a press release, through a newspaper and even broadcasted through the television. Having said that there are two different category of target audience for the whole project, it would be such a great tool to reach out to the target audiences. The strategic communication plan is a rather important tool to set the layout for promotions other than just having the media releases. The plan will consists of different methods of promoting the video project. There will be a motion of repetition with media releases but it will also include the link of the video by promoting it through various platforms of social media. Using social media will help in connecting to younger audiences and while linking the video through these platforms, a hashtag will be included to trend it by making headlines and giving people the awareness of the campaign. It was an eye-opener defining moment in where as a student, you understand more of what the organisation does and the range of services that they offer to the community. With the vast change and innovation in technology, the organisation has the basics of what is needed but there is more that they can do to help promote themselves as a better servicing company. Liaising with the client was rather simple and straight forward. The tables were turn to us and up to our own creativity to provide them with something that can help raise awareness about homelessness. Being university students, the appeal to promote our product was to break the stigma surrounding homeless and wanted to promote it to a variety of audience as possible. The promotion through media releases and having linkage of video through different platforms of social media was the key that made the client happy. It was rather a slow progress initially as the days of filming with both the staff of the company and clients who have use the services took such a time but everything was successful even with a slow start. Things could have been improve if only the responds were faster from everyone but again being a company who caters to many different services, it was working really well with everyone's schedule and
