It can also be employed in a positivist manner for the testing of theory testing or in an interpretive manner for building new theories (Bhattacherjee, 2012).
Case study designs have several unique strengths over other research methods such as experimental and survey research. Firstly, the case study design be used for either theory building or to test theories, while other methods can be used for theory testing only. In interpretive case research, the constructs

During this period, the difference between individuals with and without intellectual disability becomes more apparent. The impacts of the intellectual disability on development depend on severity of the disability. For example, children with a mild intellectual disability may still acquire self-care skills, but only at a slower rate. However, with the proper support system, they have the potential to live normal and independent lives. People with more severe intellectual disability, on the other hand, will significantly need more support with activities, such as eating, bathing, and dressing. There are six main areas of development that affect the ability to conduct normal daily activities: cognitive, communication, physical, sensory, social and emotional development.
