Law provides society with a legal system that allows individuals to think about morality and ethical situations; the concept of morality resonates with me and it is this passion that inspires me to continue studying law to degree level. Completing further reading about major offences and crimes has enabled me to develop an insight to how law operates in the UK as well as the penalties criminals face. A particular case that captivated me was of the serial killer, Ted Bundy known to be in the top 10 most intelligent serial killers. This is because he covered approximately 36 murders in which he was convicted later and received a death sentence. Following my study of this case I realised my passion lies in being able to defend victims and assist individuals who require legal help. The psychological aspect of cases fascinates me, merely based on the fact I would like to know what the defendants were thinking when committing such serious crimes. This gives me the skills to review and make perceptive evaluations of many different situations. Furthermore, I have developed a creative side which allows me to think outside the box; enabling me to elaborate on my own personal thoughts, identify key themes and make detailed links between texts, an example is ‘Othello’.
Studying Business allows a clear understanding in how an organisation operates. I have established new skills in different categories enabling me to gain knowledge and experience in factors such as analytical and critical thinking.
