A Career In Criminology Course Analysis

So you may wonder, what do I expect to gain throughout my semester in psychology 1101. Because my intended major is criminology and I intend to use it to some day become a homicide detective, I think this class will be a major key to my success throughout my career field. Understanding a criminal's thinking and movement can be detrimental. Not only do I plan to use my knowledge of psychology at my work place, but I plan to use it for non-career purposes as well.I'm hoping that by the end of this course, I will have a greater perception of a person's thoughts and behavior too. That can help in assessing a situation and coping with an individual's actions. While majoring in criminology does make this course a requirement, I do feel that this course will play an important role within my future. Although I must start in law enforcement as a police officer or another entry-level position, I do plan to work my way up to a homicide detective. Throughout my career, the knowledge I gain from this course may assist me in tracking down suspects as well as criminals. This course may provide me with the ability to understand the behavior and activity of a criminal as well as piece together clues and evidence. I believe that communication is key and communicating with an individual in the appropriate manner can take you a long way. Communicating appropriately will get you further. I find this especially true when reasoning with someone . For example, knowing what to say, when to say, and how when interviewing a murder suspect could get you better results than not knowing how to communicate properly. It may even give them the comfort and confidence in opening up and speaking
