The egg we experimented on went through many dramatic changes. In its original state, the circumference was 14 cm, and it was 66.8 grams in mass. However, it was much larger after it was put in the vinegar for 48 hours, the circumference was 17 cm, and the mass was 89.1 grams. This occurred because of osmosis. Since the vinegar had more water molecules than the egg, it was transferring the molecules to the egg to create equilibrium; therefore, the egg became larger.
As we found the Squirrel Monkey exhibit in Monkey Village, we began preparing our data tables and papers to gather all the information needed. Firstly, we set aside around 10 minutes to draw the habitat and take pictures for future reference. Next, we began the initial sampling method, the ad-lib recording. In this type of recording, you call out and write down everything observed. We stood together in an area that we thought the monkeys were most populated and took the recordings.
One dissimilarity between the Von Trapp family and the Applewhites, is that the Von Trapp family loved music, whereas the Applewhite clan were very artistic. Each Applewhite did such different work: Randolph Applewhite -theater director, Zedidiah Applewhite- handcrafts wood furniture, Archie Applewhites- constructs wood furniture, Lucille Applewhites - a poet, Debbie Applewhite (Sybil Jameson)- wrote bestselling mysteries. The Von Trapp family loved music, but each had different personalities that they had to accept in order to be harmonious when singing. Acceptance, is the theme of the story in my studious eyes. The Applewhites had multiple family members who were very artistic in their own way, but in order for the play to be triumphant, the Applewhites had to learn to accept
The two stories, The Masque of the Red Death, and Hop-Frog were written by Edgar Allen Poe in 1842 and 1849 respectively. The movie adaptation of these two stories was directed by Roger Corman and released in 1964. The film chose a radical approach, mostly because of the added characters, new details, and a different storyline. First of, the characters of Francesca, Gino, Lodovico and Juliana were completely fabricated on not at all based on any character from either story. The only main characters in Masque were Prince Prospero, and in Hop-Frog, it was the jokester king, Hop-Frog, and the dancer.
Sloths are very strange animals with their sluggish behaviors, yet they are very interesting at the same time. Sloths belong to the mammalian order Xenarthra, which also includes armadillos and anteaters. There are two different kinds of sloths, the two-toed and the three-toed sloth. There are four species of three-toed sloths and two species of two-toed sloths. Two of these species of sloth can be found in the tropical forests of Costa Rica, the brown-throated three-toed sloth (Bradypus variegatus) and Hoffmann’s two-toed sloth (Choloepus hoffmanni).
Their primary prey is the flying squirrel but also eat wood rats, mice and other small rodents. They thrive in the dense douglas-fir and hemlock tree forests of the Pacific Northwest and are a crucial part of the ecosystem there helping

In J.M Barrie’s Peter Pan, Peter and hook fight for power over Neverland; in William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, Jack and Ralph fight power over the stranded group of kids; in George Orwell’s Animal Farm Napoleon and Snowball fight for leadership of the farm. Whether it being a farm or an island all the stories revolve around a protagonist and antagonist are fighting for power over a certain something. Captain hook doesn’t want Peter to be the leader of Neverland because he would not be allowed to live there and he doesn’t like Peter’s way of thinking.

In Nagel’s “What Is It Like To Be a Bat?” he attempts to refute reductionism by stating that in order to understand the relationship between mind and body, one must address consciousness and reductionism fails to do that. Nagel lays strong emphasis on what he calls ‘subjective character of experience’ which states that everything has its own interpretation of what it is like to be themselves. Fundamentally, each organism has a unique subjective perspective and conscious experience that is only understandable from the organism’s point of view.
At least once in their life, people make a decision, and grow to eventually regret what they have done and reflect on what could have been done instead. In the passage “The Rattler” the speaker recalls the time when he crosses paths with a snake and has to debate whether to kill the snake. The author invites the reader to feel empathy for the man and sympathy for the snake using the point of view of the man, attitude of the snake, and descriptions of the setting. The author demonstrates empathy for the man through his appreciation for nature, justification for killing the snake, and his remorse after its death.
Mammals and reptiles have been on earth for millions of years. They are both the two largest animals. Both mammals and reptiles can live together in different habitats even though there are several differences between them. A major difference reptiles and mammals have is their reproduction.
