The sweet smell of a vanilla bean cake wafting through my kitchen is probably one of the best ways to begin a Saturday morning. As a result of my absolute love for baking, Sophomore year I created my very own baking business Sugar Rush Baking Company. I am the sole business owner and baker for Sugar Rush Baking Company and it has definitely served as a new beginning in my life. I spend almost everyday in my kitchen baking, decorating and learning new things about being a business owner. My grandma was the one who really introduced me to baking because every holiday when she would come visit, she would always have an entire cooler filled to the top with pies, cookies and cakes. These delicacies sparked my interest in baking because I was incredibly fascinated by the endless varieties of cookies that could be created, the amount of different cake decorating ideas and the hundreds of different fillings that could be placed inside a pie. At first, baking several orders at a time was not too difficult because even though it was time consuming, I had so much fun doing it. I have completed so many orders for so many different kinds of people so that the word of my business could travel through not only my high school through classmates, but also throughout the town of Greenwich. Besides school and soccer, my days ultimately revolve around my business which has created a very unique lifestyle.
