On Saturday October 10 the then ranked 12th Florida State Seminoles played the Miami (Fl) Hurricanes at the Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. A college football rivalry that thousands of fans looks forward to seeing every year. Kick off was at 8:00 PM but fans were encouraged to get to the stadium early because this was a sold out event. Around the Doak Campbell Stadium additional parking was available for fans starting at $30 dollars. I even seen a sign that said parking $70 dollars although it was located conveniently right across the street from the stadium.
The new stadium is said to include many new and improved features including new state of the art technology, and a huge hospitality center. The SunTrust stadium will also be about 20% smaller than the Braves original stadium. Fans fear that with the smaller space will create a problem with crowding, but the Brave’s employees seem to be confident in their actions as they state “We do not discount the concerns appellants have raised about the wisdom of the stadium project and the commitments Cobb County has made to entice the Braves to move there”(Sigo). The concerns for available space in the stadium has not gotten the Braves anxious at
The stadium was built with 56,000 seats. Walter O’Malley and Emil Praeger, a civil engineer and architect based from New York, were the designers. There are 21 terrace entrances on 6 separate seating levels. There is an area of parking adjacent to each section of seating’s entrance. A total of 16,000 parking spots are on-site.
In “A Homemade Education” by Malcolm X his knowledge is expanded while being incarcerated and after he finishes his time in jail. Getting his hands on a dictionary gives Malcolm X the opportunity to finally learn to read and write. Malcolm X starts copying the dictionary onto paper and with doing this he is introduced to words that he never knew about. The process of learning for him is enjoyable that he is able to write the whole dictionary. Moreover, his knowledge on African-American history is expanded as well.

This is a cool experience before the game even begins. However, if tailgating is not your idea of a good time, you can still get to the game plenty early. The doors will open two hours prior to the start of the game, but you may walk around the outside and see everything. While walking around they have little shops and games set up for people before going into the ballpark. Once the doors open you can go in and watch the teams take batting practice on

According to Wong, “A research group at Harvard, The Project on the Next Generation of Teachers discovered that: Few teachers began teaching with a clear, operational curriculum in hand, and even fewer received curricula that aligned with state standards” (pg. 231). On page 30-31 in “The First Days Of School,” the Wong’s make it clear that following a curriculum is crucial to effective student learning. They make a point that a teacher is not to design a curriculum, but rather to deliver the district curriculum. At High Plains Elementary School and Cherry Creek School District, mathematics is taught by following the curriculum Bridges. Bridges lists lessons day by day to follow for each grade.
It’s the first day of school for Anthony Carmine he’s starting 11th grade but like all his classmates he has forgotten 40-50% of the things he learned in 10th grade and will have to get this information back. In 1954 students in schools started integrating to other schools, before this big event, kids were put in separate schools. This was due to their race. R.V. Cassil wrote the book, The First Day of School which revolves around two members of a family (brother and sister) that are forced to go to an all white school. The book starts off with John messing with his bowl of cereal, while talking to his mother about why his sister, Audrey, is not down stairs yet.
Four-day school weeks have the capability to change student lives. Every school should invest in the four-day school week plan. Implementing this routine would allow teachers more time to teach and give students the option to do their homework during class, in turn creating student success. All of these factors would help to enhance student and faculty life, while promoting success in the classroom. Having a school system run on a four-day rotation would increase their success by offering more opportunities for lesson and work time.
