Throughout history, millions of people have immigrated to The United States with high hopes of a better life. This not only helped them achieve their goal, but also helped build America as we know it today. While they can be hard workers, illegal immigration ultimately needs to be stopped, or slowed at the very least because it 's economically crippling to allow them to take advantage of government assistance, it’s expensive to ensure the education of their children, many put lives in danger by driving without a licence, and allowing them to stay encourages more to come. When people come to America illegally and start a family, they have children, so as a result, almost half of illegal immigrant households have children in them. These children are technically US citizens because they were born here, which means they’re enrolled into public schools which costs money that their illegal parents are unlikely able to pay. These methods include a physical barrier between us and Mexico to make it significantly harder to get here and an effective way to track illegal aliens to find them if they were to get passed the barrier. We’d also need a stronger method of enforcement when dealing with deporting illegal immigrants. The biggest thing we can do to stop them is having nothing that would give them the incentive to come to the US in the first place. If there was no government assistance for them to exploit once they get here, there would be nothing for them here and they wouldn’t go through the trouble of coming here. This solution doesn’t necessarily mean there shouldn’t be government assistance programs, but they should only be attainable by immigrating here the right way by becoming a legal
