Richard Kuklinski was a stone cold killer and nothing would stop him from completing his objective of murdering his target. Serial killers that we have studied had many different categories that they fell under disorganized, organized, power control, etc… But with Richard you never knew the certain way he was going to kill his victims. Like most of the serial killers we’ve studied they have had a troubled upbringing and so did Richard kuklinski.
Biss attracts the reader by stating “Guilt is what makes a good life built on evil no longer good” (Biss, par. 25). America is built by people of color. Yet, inequality and injustice thrive to this day, as white people become in charge of the imbalance. Biss incriminates white people of guilt in several parts of the article to convey her message of injustice. Another pathos appeal she uses in the article is “I thought of the white police officers who killed unarmed black people and kept their jobs.”

As a young country, the United States was a land of prejudice and discrimination. Wanting to grow their country, white Americans did what they had to in order to make sure that they were always on top, and that they were always the superior race. It did not matter who got hurt along the way because everything that they did was eventually justified by their thinking that all other races were inferior to them. A Different Mirror by Ronald Takaki describes the prejudice and discrimination against African Americans and Native Americans in the early history of the United States.
Have you ever been affected by race in your life? Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior is an outcome of racism. Racism is a big conflict in today’s society and effect many lives. In the two stories “Champion of the Word” by Maya Angelou and “Black Men and Public Space” by Brent Staples , race was the big social view being discussed. Racist ideology can become manifest in many aspects of social life.
No matter what goes on the scale of power always tips back to the white citizens of the country just because of their skin color. When confronted with the idea of white privilege, white people often believe that they are being victimized by otherwise uncontrollable circumstances. “White fragility is a state where even a minimum amount of racial stress becomes intolerable, triggering a range of defensive moves including outward display of emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and behaviors such as argumentation, silence, and leaving the stress-inducing situation” (Corrigan). When white people experience these feelings, they often label themselves as the victim in the situations, blaming others for confronting them based on uncomfortable or racially charged feelings. Race is one the most sensitive and controversial topics of our time. As kids, we were taught that racism has gotten better as times has passed. However, the author, Michelle Alexander, of The New Jim Crow proposes the argument that racism has not gotten better, but the form of racism that we known in textbooks is not the racism we experience today. Michelle Alexander has countless amounts of plausible arguments, but she has failed to be a credible author, since she doesn’t give enough citations or evidence for her argument to convince people who may not have prior agreement with her agreement.. Alexander’s biggest mistake when it came to being a credible author was starting off the book with a countless number of claims without any evidence in her Introduction.
Study hard in school. Be focused. In the end it’s your own responsibility to succeed. The teachers, the government and your parents can be supportive without you being supportive of yourself. The only one who can fulfill your responsibilities is you.
On March 18 2008, Presidential candidate Barack Obama delivered a speech towards and against his Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s and these comments and thoughts made by him are what triggered this speech because Barack Obama needed to deliver this message as soon as possible with the election coming up. The subject was based upon racial issues in America, it was being spoken towards undecided voters at the moment. What candidate Barack Obama was trying to deliver was that he does not agree with the statement made by his Reverend but understands the cause of it. An allusion is a reference to something real or fictional, to someone, some event, or something in the Bible, history, literature, or any phase of culture.

Barack Obama has influenced millions in his lifetime by taking the power he desires to have, from being an attorney, moving up to Illinois State Senator, to becoming a US President for two terms. While he was a Senator in 2004 he was invited to speak at the Democratic National Convention. In his Keynote Address, he expressed different bases of power as he spoke. The bases of power, as explained by Agunis, Pierce, and Simonsen, are reward, coercive, legitimate, referent, and expert.
