It was around the year 1923, at Bauhaus that Kandinsky paint one of his composition series and came up with “Composition VIII” (see fig.5) 10 years after his last composition series in 1913. Kandinsky composition can be described as his expression of the world and nature around him, they are full with energy and strength that he couldn’t express in his life. Living with his mundane wife: Nina, who constantly worried about every occurrence, he needed to escape to his own world of painting. Abstract art has allow him to gain that temporary detachment and reveal his inner self, and so then he encourage his students to walk towards the same approach. Composition VIII painting took a fairly different course from his earlier 7 composition paintings that he painted only within 3 years. Not under the oppression of the War and drifted away from expressionism, Composition VIII was more a universally objective, influence by the art movement of Supremacist and Constructivism which is led by Kazemir Malevich who was a pioneer of geometric abstract art at that time. Not only the style Composition VII (see fig. 6) and Composition VIII is different, but also both of the paintings stand in an opposite side of different spectrum of composition and emotion.
