Taylor accuses enormous box stores for equating so as to empower American "hyper-consumerism," yet she misrepresents huge box stores with awful values and little organizations with great qualities. Like her different focuses, this case overlooks the monetary and social substances of American culture today. Huge box stores don't compel Americans to purchase more. By offering lower costs in an advantageous setting, on the other hand, they permit shoppers to spare time and buy products they won't not have the capacity to bear the cost of from little organizations. The presence of all the more little organizations would not change what most Americans can bear, nor would it diminish their longing to purchase moderate stock.
Maturing in life. At the beginning of life, people are innocent, with life not having a chance to tamper and corrupt them. At the end of life, they 've known loss and heartbreak and life has messed them up. But imagine if people were born all knowing and died as innocent as a baby.
At the beginning of The Jacket, Gary Soto immediately provided evidence to the audience of how nerve wracking it is to be an adolescent. He made that clear by writing this, “ I remember the green coat that I wore in fifth and sixth grade when you either danced like a champ or pressed yourself against a greasy wall, bitter as a penny toward the happy couples.” In the introduction to the essay it says that this genre of writing explains the importance of clothing to adolescents. He knows that even the way you dress can impact who you are seen by others. Soto explained it by writing this, “I took off the jacket during lunch…

Consumerism in relation to women is blatantly sexist in that it produces an ideology that female consumers are constantly purchasing extravagant items because they are incapable of spending money rationally. The theory continues to suggest that female consumers are searching to enhance their femininity to appeal to the binary gender
It is important to note that Clifton is informal in this article because he wants to explain to his audience, which are people who want to understand adolescents why they want Supreme’s goods. In a part of this article, he is criticizing people for their decisions when he says “But that's fine..even if it's just a pair of boxer shorts”. It makes the audience feel as if he is talking directly to them as if they are having a conversation where he is explaining them the reasoning behind these millennia’s choices. Clifton makes a great point at the end of the article when he says that they are riding on their “authenticity” and if Supreme keeps opening new stores, they will lose all of their credibility. He shows his readers that everything that makes it unique will soon disappear, so he inquires why they would want to buy it later
The Family Downward Spiral Throughout life different families go through many different obstacles. Anne Taylor’s “Teenage Wasteland” revealed that no matter how much time and effort Daisy invests in setting strict rules and cracking down on what her wayward son Donny should and shouldn’t be doing, it is not enough. Donny makes poor life decisions regardless. Even though Daisy loves her son and wants the best for him she lacks giving Donny positive attention regarding his well-being and focuses more on criticizing everything he is doing wrong. As for Donny’s father he seems to be absent majority of the time and doesn’t show much attention towards his children.

Many people, especially teens, tend to be unappreciative of what they have and choose to only think about themselves. One does not think about others but only about what they have and how they look, even if they are very fortunate for what they do have. All that matters to people these days is how they look or what they have, and if it is going to set off the right impressions to others. In Gary Soto’s short story “The Jacket” the boy is very unappreciative of this “new jacket” his mom has just brought him saying that the jacket looked like “the color of day-old guacamole.” Whenever the boy would wear that jacket he would feel as if everyone thought differently of him because ‘it made him look different.’
