In “Forget Gun Control. America Needs Fallacy Control.”, Michelle Malkin, the author, mainly talks against outspoken celebrities on the argument of gun control. In response to such celebrities as Jimmy Kimmel and Billy Baldwin, Malkin points out the unfactual statements they claim. She believes feelings, outbursts, and emotional responses by these celebrities should not be taken over critical thinking. Michelle Malkin effectively goes against these emotional outbursts by these many Hollywood celebrities. Within Malkin’s article, no argument of her own is proposed. Instead Malkin effectively responds to all of the celebrities unfactual and emotional outbursts we see on television every night and claims that these outbursts shouldn’t be held over the process of critical thinking. If, after wrapping up with the contestation of other arguments, Malkin evolves a claim of her own against these Gun Control activists, it would have made an overall, better article. The main points in the “Forget Gun Control. America Needs Fallacy Control.”, that of how critical thinking should be held to a higher pedestal than these cheap, tear jerkers seen by the celebrities, is valid. When Kimmel speaks of the Vegas shooter and of the “gun show loophole”, he leaves out the fact that the casino was already a gun free zone and that it has been proven the “gun show loophole” is nothing but a myth. Heavy bias and further logical fallacies are made in the following paragraphs. Biases are often made in form of hashtags, as seen in the article, Billy Baldwin posted #NRATerrorists, impressing that the NRA and republicans don’t care for human lives. In the paragraph ‘Think of the Children’, further logical fallacies are made in the argument for gun control when the entire purpose and use of the second amendment seems to be skipped
