Introduction The title Death 's Acre says a lot of what to this book is about; Death. This book was a fascinating read for its worth. Death 's Acre goes into the life and mind of the man of rotting bodies himself, Dr. Bill Bass, lead anthropologist at the University of Tennessee. While talking about his personal life, he also incorporates a lot of his big cases and studies.

One of the main personality traits showing in Ashes’ dad in the story is manipulation. On multiple occasions, he tries to butter Ashes up to get her to do what he wants. “‘You look radiant,’ he said. ‘You get more and more beautiful.’ I was wearing jeans and a bulky brown sweater that Mom had given me for Christmas.”
almost everything he’s said to Ashleigh throughout the story has been true, if it hasn’t, then it was to make her feel good. He’s also always been extremely polite and nice to her. A main phrase he said to her that definitely helped her get over stealing, was that she was a “one-in-a-million girl.” She loved hearing this because it made her feel special, and no one else called her that. She also thought this for the nickname he gave to her,
He also said she was truly, “one in a million’. He said this multiple times in the story and it seems like he surely meant it. He always promised her things and this was important because in the story Ashleigh was describing about her mom and stated,”...and never promises me anything”. In other words, this shows and makes you infer that she wishes her mother had also promised her things.
In the United States English college classes, the students are still learning about horror/mystery stories. According to “Darkecho.com”, horror/mystery authors are not entirely "nice". Devil worship and baby-eating are sometimes considered daily fare for authors of dark fiction; they are assumed to never wear anything but black. The two main stories from my English 1002 class is “N” written by Stephen King and “Tell-Tale Heart” written by Edgar Allan Poe. According to “stephenking.com”, Stephen King was born in Portland, Maine in 1947.
Kristofferson’s dive was perfectly executed so his splash was graceful and dainty. These sound effects are a great representation of the character’s personalities. Ash tries his best to impress his father with his jump and yells, “watch this dad!” as he is flailing through the air. Kristofferson’s character has a quiet confidence in himself and that is shown when he just shrugs off the compliment about how amazing his dive was.
The Style of Poe Analysis In “The Tell-tale Heart” by Edgar Allen Poe, the demented, arrogant and dark tones reflect the man’s guilt and insanity that eventually leds him to admit to the crime he committed. Poe’s diction heightens the arrogant tones which is seen as the man plans the murder and carries it out in a careful, organized way. He goes “boldly” into the chamber, “cunningly” sticks his head in the doorway and feels “the extent of his own power”. Poe’s use of diction shows how cocky the man actually is.
The Cold War was a rivalry of ideas between USA and the Soviet Union after the Second World War. Both were superpowers with different perspectives on economics and governance. The Cold War involved arms and space race (outdoing each other in technology and power) and proxy wars (both countries used external conflicts to hurt each other’s interests). The Soviet Union was more responsible for the Cold War.
It all came down to Hades. A massive creature, strong in mind and body. Skin of pitch black, eyes that blazed red. He devoured worlds, conquered them, and he had come to Ash’s planet. Ash was just a child then, really, at the cusp of adult hood.
Love is a strong reaction one feels towards someone or something. While many dispute that it drives people to make rash decisions, it is also known as a remarkable emotion that is beneficial. The novel The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, by Carson McCullers, depicts many situations where people who have a love for each other use that emotion both positively and negatively. Many of the characters utilize this emotion for their own benefit, but some continue to demonstrate their love for others, even if those who are receiving that care do not realize it. In particular, Mick Kelly and John Singer, despite all their troubles and hardships, made it a responsibility to tend for friends and family.
