Poverty Point is a prehistoric earthworks of the Poverty Point culture, located in the Southern United States. It is 15.5 miles from the Mississippi River. Poverty Point comprises several earthworks and mounds built between 1650 and 700 BCE, during the Archaic period in the Americas by a group of Native Americans of the Poverty Point culture (1). Reducing staff burnout and creating a positive workplace culture are two major steps in the right direction. Another topic is to determine what exactly makes a good direct care staff. If you ask any supervisor the quick response would be someone who shows up for their shifts, but there is so much more than that. The life experiences of people with an intellectual disability are largely shaped by their residential supports with the role of direct care workers being crucial to the success of people with disabilities achieving personally valued lifestyles (Dodevska & Vassos, 2013). It has been documented that the poor-quality of direct care staff has often lead to an increase in behaviors from the individuals being served.
Possessing a qualification is advantageous when seeking employment. the parison you are going for in the workplace is looking for someone how has the experience for that parison most employers will ask for someone with experience like in the Disability Or Age Care but in some cases they will employ a person who does not have the Qualifications but is willing to get the training. where a person how has the expenses and the Qualification does not get the job because he or she is too over Qualified for that job so the argument is the company perfuse to put an inexperienced person on and train them the way they want to . Inappropriate language in most cases the person will talk proper , when they are in with the boss, or other staff members ,but when, outside with a client there language becomes Inappropriate when he or she is working e client.with
This can be promoted in a health and social care setting by training staff so they make sure they are doing their best for the treatment of their service users. When training care workers would learn what kind of behaviour should be used in front of service users and it also teaches not to be judgemental. The care workers are made sure that they are clear about the consequences of discriminating and how the service user would feel in order to prevent it and promote anti-discriminatory
Women have come a long way throughout history from the right to vote to be able to work in the workplace. They have faced a lot of discrimination but have been able to fight through each situation, but yet there are disparities between men and women in the workplace from the pay gap to positions. But why are these disparities present? Katty Kay and Clarie Shipman, writers of the article The Confidence Gap, believe the answer is confidence. This article argues that the reason why women do not pursue higher positions is due to low confidence through a pathos appeal directed at the audience, an ethos appeal given by the credibility of the authors, and a logos appeal by a variety of statistics and studies.
One of the important values underpinning person-centered working is an understanding that everyone has the right to make choices and have their preferences respected, even if others make decisions on their behalf. This is a legal requirement under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Some people may need more support and information than others to make those choices and may need people on their side to represent those choices to decision-makers in services. The act contains clear procedures about what should happen if someone cannot make a particular choice for themselves. Some people don’t understand or know what personalisation is and how to implement it in their work due to lack of training, another could be poor communication and the support worker might not know how to use their preferred methods to be able to communicate with them.
Some of the difficulties that may arise includes, not giving the service user the chance to make choices. For example; if a resident of a care home says he/she will like to wear shorts on his/her day out and the staff insist that he/she must wear whatever clothes that has being selected by the staff, then the staff is not giving the resident the chance to make their choice (not empowering). Under the Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and social care, every service user have the right to their choice and this must be respected regardless of their colour, race, culture and sexual

Personal Interest in the Counseling Field And Career Goals The counseling field I am working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), which will give me the opportunity to work with clients that need person- centered therapy. The difference between positive self-esteem and narcissistic personality style is that positive self-esteem can be considered a primary attitude in the evaluation of oneself by engaging a conscious and third person feeling for self. Introduction “Soft skills get little respect, but will make or break your career.” This popular quote from Peggy Klaus certainly gives an idea of the importance of these soft skills in one’s career. Also in Stephen Covey’s book ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’ he states that in his career spanning more than 25 years in business, university and other fields, he has come in contact with several individuals who have achieved pinnacles of outward success but somehow have found themselves struggling with an inner hunger which includes a need for personal development and developing a healthy as well as effective growing relationship with people, (Covey, 1989). Directly or indirectly he explained the importance of these skills. One may question what does actually mean by this term, well soft skills can be defined as personal characteristics that enable an individual to interact effectively and harmoniously with other individuals.
