Where are they? Long, long ago in a far, far land lived a man. A man who was sick of everyone and everyone was sick of him. He was called Paul. Paul was a tall, handsome, lavish man. He was a man who lost everything before he ever had anything. Paul, son of Carles, was a spaniard who was different from the native Mexicans. He, as many others, was tall and had fair skin, unlike the natives who were shorter in stature and had a darker skin tone. Carles, was a wealthy man who had many lands, but when the redistribution of lands after the revolutionary war, he lost everything. He went from one of the wealthiest man in the surrounding areas, to a working comrade like everybody else with a small plot of land to be self sufficient farmer. Carles …show more content…

His friend’s name was Saul and the priest’s name was Juan Pablo. Saul and Paul had been friends since they were little. They attended school together, and would have each others back whenever the occasion called for it. Paul and Saul were like salt and pepper, always together, always everywhere. They were so good friends that they would sometimes, periodically get drunk. One would get drunk one day and the other would get drunk the other day. They would do this that way one could take care of the other. Even though they did this they would usually drink together as they’ve always done.
One day in the middle of May, 1927, Saul commented to his fellow friend Paul that they should indeed join the rebellion and help fight for Christ.
“My brother, you know, Juan Pablo was telling me that they need some troops for the siege at Arandas to capture back the church.” Explained Saul.
“Yeah, I know I've heard. As long as we don't get attacked, we are to live a mellow life. A life to women and tequila.” Paul replied.
“No, what I’m saying is that we should help them”
“Why, what’s in it for me?”
“Oh, I don't know maybe, you won't burn in hell being an atheist
