After leading my group through the board game of Munchkin, I have learned more about myself in the ability to be an effective leader and to communicate effectively as a leader. In given such a short time to learn a board game and lead our group through the board game, my different leadership abilities were put to the test. This board game has helped me to realize my leadership capabilities in teaching new concepts to people who have not played this game before. In reading the articles prior to leading this game and studying this game in depth, I have been able to be a better leader. This allows for me to specifically lead and communicate to each individual depending on their situation they were in. I did not explain all the instructions in the beginning or else it would be very overwhelming to them. I briefly explained the objective of the game in the beginning, yet since there were other concepts I had to explain, I did not spend as much time in explaining that part. This probably caused confusion of the objective of the game with the other complex ideas of the game in the beginning as well. In the future, if I have to explain this game again, I will briefly explain the objective and goals of the game followed by the complex ideas and then re-explain the objective of the game in greater detail. I will, therefore, explain the goals and objectives just so that everyone remembers and now that they have absorbed some of the strategies and ideas of the game. In explaining the goals and objectives of the game again, this will allow for group members to have a chance of knowing how to play the game and therefore have thought of some strategies they may want to use. In doing this, they will then be able to effectively know what the objective and game are about. In receiving this feedback, I quickly re-explained the goals and objective of the game and my group members were able to enjoy the game
