I want to be a leader of the Prosper High School Band because I want to help set the standards for the coming years and help those who have trouble organizing their time/ schedule throughout the marching season and the 2018- 2019 school year. As well as help them gather their thoughts about a specific subject or issue. If I am not chosen as a leader in the next semester, my daily do’s and participation will not be affected. I will strive to be the best that I can, until the end of my high school career.
Any good program needs a strong leadership team, and I have always wanted to be a strong leader because I love helping others be their very best. In our marching band program our section leaders are called FOG (For Others Greatness), they are chosen not only for their musicality but also for their ability to work with and guide others. The section leaders during my freshman year were incredible and I longed to be just like them when I was finally able to apply and audition for the position. I am on the color guard and do not play an instrument during the marching season, therefore my color guard skills would need to be at an elevated level in comparison to those of my peers. As the audition portion of the application came about I worked diligently

Throughout the past two years as a member of the Flyer Marching Band, I have had opportunities to develop myself as an efficient worker in a group environment, become comfortable with having leadership roles, and to understand what it truly means to be a veteran marcher. During my few years with the marching band, I have also been through two seasons experiencing others’ leadership, some people being more effective towards their respective sections than others. I have taken what I have learned about marching band and the work ethic that goes into a successful leader and as I drew closer to this point, applying for section leader, I began to formulate my own set of ideals that a section leader should strive to achieve; a section leader should
I want to be section leader because I think I am the best candidate to help the group. I believe this because of what I bring to the band, I have preset goals, and I have a plan to achieve them. I believe I bring many strengths and weaknesses to the group. My main strengths are in leadership and marching. Leadership is a strength of mine because over the past few summers I have lead sectionals in Summer Music Experience.
Gentrification is a general term often used negatively, suggesting the displacement of poorer families by richer families. It is one of the most debated topic which is mainly used in Urban Planning. In the post world war era, around 1960s, wealthier families moved to the suburbs whereas the cities were occupied by poorer families. Like every coin have its heads and tails.
Being a part of the Nation Ford Marching band and allocating a great deal of time to an activity played a large role in my growing leadership capabilities. During the first semester of my sophomore year, I was selected to become a mentor for the freshman class of 2026. After previously participating in drum major workshops to support my interest in becoming a stronger leader, I was able to apply the lessons I learned to a real environment. Having the privilege of being a mentor for my section allowed me to gain more confidence by helping others. I found myself enjoying the long, scorching practices because I was happy to be aiding the growth of others- those that needed the confidence I needed during my first year of marching band.
I was only a few days in when I stepped back and noticed something, all the leaders were missing out on other opportunities. They were consumed with responsibilities and so narrow minded towards band that most of them were missing the fun times outside of their narrow vision. When they were given new opportunities outside of band they mostly ignored them because they only had one thing on their mind. It made me realize that all the duties I’ve done for band had given me more opportunities to be a new different leader around the school. By not being a leader in the band I was allowed to see them.
I would like to join Year Up because i would like the opportunity to better myself. Right now i feel like my life isn’t headed into the direction that i want it to, i feel like it’s at a dead end just living paycheck to paycheck, and i know there's more to life than that. I would love the chance to expand my mind and a better, more educated person. I would like to obtain more professional and life skills, more than what i currently have. I currently work at Rhode Island hospital where i've been work as a laundry aide for two years, i'm grateful for the opportunity to work for a company like Lifespan, but i know working in laundry isn't going to get me anywhere other than where i am right now.
Being a leader is to give them that little push that they need. Being a leader also means you have to do what’s best for all students on campus. “I like hearing people’s ideas and I want to make sure everyone gets what they want but I also have to make sure that it’s safe and fun for everyone.” Creating new ideas as a leader is always fun but making sure everyone gets what they want is also really important.
I'd love to be apart of the staff team because I love the community's players. I'd like to learn about the players and the team more. I have a ton of experience with being staff, as I've owned and moderated several servers. I'm on Universe (Factions) daily. I'm on for hours a day.
When being a supervisor, you have a lot of responsibilities that you need to take on every day with the people who work for you. It is important that the supervisor always oversees the jobs/activities that are being performed and making decisions on what to do. When it comes to everything with being a supervisor, there are ten reasons the supervisor hat fits me just fine. The first one is having good behavior, which means that you need to be approachable in every situation. You want to be positive and make sure that people in your team feel that they can come to you.
Leadership Statement I pride myself in being a good listener, and this has helped in all the leadership roles I held throughout my life thus far. I have experienced democratic leaderships through being a part of groups in college for class presentations, being a choir leader in my church, being a volunteer in a few projects, at my place of work and also as being a part of my family. The attributes of being a good leader has expanded with time through these experiences. Some of valuable leadership traits that I have been able to obtain and strengthen over time include: how to be a team player, effective listening skills, delivering constructive criticism, the need to understand people’s temperaments, and how to be a problem solver and a risk-bearer.
Purpose of being a Leader “Some suggest that the purpose of leadership is to deliver results through others. Others see the leader’s purpose as developing more leaders. Even others see the leader’s primary responsibility is to make the vision come to fruition. I believe that effective leaders do all these things and more”. S. Chris Edmonds on April 13, 2015 I strongly believe my responsibility as a leader starts from people and it ends with people.
Our world today has changed so much from the past that the way we live our lives has also changed drastically over the years. In Restak’s essay, “Attention Deficit: The Brain Syndrome of Our Era,” he stated on how our brains has changed from the olden times, how we are affected by technology and the problems to multitasking. Multitasking has become a common way for people to complete more tasks at a time; however, it is not the best option because it is less efficient, causes distractions and the possibility for mistakes. As society develops, our life becomes busier and busier. In times when we become overwhelmed with our workloads, multitasking becomes an option because it can help get a lot of work done all at the same time.
