The author’s organization in The Greco-Persian Wars is focused mostly chronologically and divided into sections based on the events that occurred. The book is divided into 7 parts, and each part includes different events. Greens writing style includes quotes from multiple primary sources. In the beginning of the book I believed that Green had a biased opinion on the subject, but after continuing to read I realized that he is not biased but has just done his fair share of research. I like how the author describes the events that take place. He explains in great detail what happens before the fight and the training that the soldiers go through. He does a great job in using dates throughout the book to help identify when something occurred and when it ends. …show more content…

He gives background facts about both the Persians and Greeks that lead up to the wars. The author uses a variety of aids such as several maps, photographs, and a guide telling you all the definitions of abbreviations used throughout the book. Some people mentioned throughout the book are Themistocles who built the Greek Navy, Xerxes, the king and ruler of the Persians, Darius, who led the Persians in the first war, Herodotus who was a Greek merchant who only wrote one piece of work about the Persian Wars. Each part of the book is about a different event taking place, the first part is Darius and the West, the second part is The Legacy of Marathon, part three is called Waiting for the Barbarian, part four is The Corner-stone of Freedom, the fifth part is called The Doors of the Peloponnese, and the last part is called The Last
