The story Where Are You Going, Where have you Been, is about a fifteen year old young lady named Connie. She was seen at home as a youthful adolescent who went around "ogling" at herself. When she was out with friends she attempted to keep up a full grown and hot personality. Her mother was extremely judgmental of her. Continually contrasting Connie with her more seasoned sister June, suggesting that she was less mindful than June. Her mother longed for Connie to save cash, help with the cleaning, and help with the cooking as her sister did. Connie's specialty was lying around the house, meeting young men, going out with friends, and fantasizing while listening to music. The discussion began with him presenting himself as Arnold Friend. He proceeded to let her know about his car and furthermore about his friend Ellie, who kept on sitting in the passenger’s seat. While the discussion advanced, he made efforts to persuade her to come outside the house to take a ride in his car with him. Connie reacted to his request with, “no”. She then comprehended that the appearance she strived for wasn't the fantasy she had envisioned about adulthood. That is the point at which he got to be upset with her. He then began letting her know that he thoroughly understood her and her family in an attempt to scare her out of the house.
