What Impact Do Ads Have On Childhood Obesity?
Think. Think back to when you were just a child. I bet you had a T.V. Did you watch it at all? Did you have some sort of fast food with you. Now that's the issue in this time. Children and adults are eating so much food and that food isn't usually all that healthy. A major factor in America's obesity epidemic is that young children are being exposed to ads that feature unhealthy food and then they want to eat these foods.
With the larger world of electronics whether their portable or if they're not portable children and and adults are being exposed to these bad foods and these ads that go along with the food. After an investigation was conducted it was found that 98% of ads feature unhealthy foods (as of 2013). In the U.S. obesity rates have nearly tripled over a course of 30 years. Obesity isn't just being fat, it has more consequences. It also causes stunted growth, diabetes, and heart issues. My mother has diabetes caused by obesity
This marketing is bad also because marketers are pouring more money each year into their ads. Especially the ads towards children. What's scary is that children are being bombarded with 2 billion dollars worth of ads each and every year and it's still rising.

They especially target children, but if their not they still use the same tactics for adults. One tactic is the colors they use. They make sure that they have flashy colors so you see it. Some of these colors are red, white, and blue. Yes the American colors. They also put their advertisements where they know people will see it, like on the freeway or on a street with billboards. They also go for convenience so that you'll get want in a short period of time so you'll come back again. The drive through is a great example of this convenience. Restaurants also put their ovens at the front of the store so that you smell what ever their
