1. What has brought you to the point of exploring opportunities to serve in China? I have been searching for an opportunity to explore outside of America in order to share God’s word and learn more about different cultures. I believe this opportunity will increase my knowledge of teaching and I hope this opportunity will mold and shape me into the young, godly teacher I hope to become. I hope to learn more about China and their culture as well. 2. How and why you believe God is leading you to work with International School of China’s 2016 Summer School Teaching program? When I first heard about this opportunity, I began to pray and ask for guidance with this decision. I knew this would be a very big decision and it would be a life changing experience. I know he has been leading me to apply for this opportunity. He has given me faith and courage to pursue this experience even with the doubts I first had in my mind. Since I have been praying with others ever since I was a young girl, I feel competent with praying and talking about prayer requests around others. An area that I feel competent in is working with children in a Christian setting and other settings as well. Whether is in volunteering on Wednesday nights or during children’s church every other Sunday morning, I enjoy talking about Jesus to children. I feel as though I understand children and hope to make a difference in their lives through listening to what they have to say and how they feel as well. I believe that as adults, it is important to make time to listen to children instead of always talking. This is one area in which I am experienced and feel competent in due to the many child-centered programs and centers I have been involved
