Death is the inevitable. Every little aspect of life comes in contact with death at least once in this cruel unbreakable cycle. Few are taken by death as early as before the exit the womb. Before they are ever able to live a life that will eventually come to a bittersweet end. Others are lucky enough to live past their due. We cannot escape our faith. From the very moment her brother died, Death has kept a watchful eye on Liesel. Death watched Liesel grow up right in front of his own eyes. He observed her laughs, smile, cries, love, and hate. One thing Death saw that truly astounded him was Liesel live. Something that Death is unable to achieve himself. Death is not a heartless creature. He is able to feel the emotions we as humans are able to feel. He sees the emotions that run through an individual when he harvests their loved one soul. Despite that, he is able to grasp the simplest understanding how it actually feels like to have those emotions we as humans harvest within our very being. Nevertheless, through Liesel, he had a greater opportunity in understanding the way we as humans operate on an emotional level. For example, towards the end of The Book Thief, Death has a heart to heart moment with his readers.
