Throughout my life I have collected many sentimental objects and symbols that represent achievements, memories, friendships, and my childhood. I constantly look back at those items, as they lay in my room, in order to relive the happiness it reminds me of. I plan to carry these articles with me as long as I live, because they each portray different stories that I want to remember forever. Just like how Holden holds close to Allie’s baseball mitt, I hold close to many items as well. Among the many artifacts that I possess and are on display in my room, some of my favorites include: a starfish, photos to document past memories, a scrapbook, and a tennis medal. The small circular gold disk that may just seem like another little old childish artifacts but it actually holds a deeper meaning to me. It represents determination and hard work. Although I didn’t earn a first place title, it prompts me to think about my goals for the future and the fact that I still have room to grow for next year. I recall the exact day, every event that occurred; both the joy and gloom I felt. After winning our first two matches, qualifying us for the finals, I was particularly confident in my teamwork abilities with my partner. At the same time I was terrified. My coach said it was one of the most intense matches he has ever seen from a JV level, but sadly we feel short of the title. We both worked extremely hard and did our best, so overall I was proud. Whenever I spot the medal I immediately think about how hard I tried to snag the gold one, but how in life you don't always
