On the Waterfront is a 1954 award-winning drama film directed by Elia Kazan. The black and white film location established on New York’s waterfront docks. While watching the motion picture, the audience learned about the corrupt practices the mob’s “on the waterfront” performed; clandestinely murdering the dockworkers and anyone who stood in the mob’s path. Not until the end of the film, one courageous man, Terry Malloy, took charge and broke the “strangle-hold power of the union boss, Johnny Friendly” (Dirks).

Also the documentary discusses the responses that are available to stop piracy and why nothing was being done. The documentary also uses first person accounts to display what the atmosphere and attitudes surrounding Somali piracy were. I watched the movie, scene by scene, frame by frame, rewinding, forwarding, unable to believe my eyes. I witnessed my own murder. The camera caught Susan or Tracy or whatever her name was, tying me up. I looked so foolish, the beatific smile on my face was sickening. I felt like throwing up.

Jaws 1 was released in 1975 and was one of the first horror films ever, so people didn’t know how to take a shark killing a person within the first five minutes of the movie. People now probably wouldn’t consider Jaws to be a horror film because it doesn’t fit the modern scary movie fright. When Jaws was released everyone loved it because there hadn’t been to many horror films before this one and eventually tbey ended up making a few more that in my opinion weren’t as good as the original, although Jaws has many intense moments and tons of screaming I don’t think Jaws is a horror film. To some people in 2017 Jaws is even considered a comedy, even though I wouldn’t go that far. “The screams started and they never stopped.”
