Gun Control and Gun Laws Today How long will it take for the government to fix gun control? Will it be another mass shooting,another pull of a trigger, and another life gone? Gun laws are weak and easily manipulated. We need to reinforce gun laws making them federal laws not state laws. What else could it take for us as people to fix these laws? Guns are the source for mass shootings and one way is through undocumented firearms. Why do we complain on gun violence but not crack down on it? In the journal “Violence and Victims” over 292 mass shootings have taken place worldwide from 1966 to 2012. A “Mass Shooting” is a shooting that is four or more people are hurt or killed in a shooting incident and nearly one-third of these have taken place in the United States. There are multiple loopholes in our gun law system one that has been accounted for of is the “Gun Show Loophole” (Source A) shows us that in a gun show, unlicensed individuals could sell firearms to people without requiring background checks.
