Synthesis Paper How do leaders lead others without first being able to lead themselves (Odom, Boyd, & Williams, 2012)? What are traits and personalities of a leader? This paper seeks to present a combination of leadership personalities, leadership behaviors, leadership styles, and developing interpersonal leadership through personal growth. Whether an individual is pursuing leadership as a president, seeking to define leadership styles, or simply searching the influence of personal growth, this paper shows leaders functioning in different ways. First, consider “Fearless Dominance and the U.S. Presidency: Implications of Psychopathic Personality Traits for Successful and Unsuccessful Political Leadership” by Waldman, Watts, Rubenzer, and Faschingbauer, (2012), their purpose was to argue how certain occupations, including leadership possess the traits of a psychopathic personality. Second, consider “Leadership styles and associated personality traits: Support for the conceptualization of transactional and transformational leadership” by van Eeden, Cilliers, and van Deventer (2012), they also purposed to examine the model of leadership in terms of behaviors associated with various styles (van Eeden el at., 2012). Last, consider, “Impact of Personal Growth Projects on Leadership Identity Development” by Odom, Boyd, and Williams (2012), their purpose was to analyze the impact that personal growth projects have on future …show more content…

In conclusion of this paper, hopefully, information presented will give a clear understanding of the themes presented; leadership, personality traits, and interpersonal skills. Similarities of the three articles explores the identity of leadership in various roles. The discussions common among the articles should enlighten the reader of leadership at its best and at its
