The best leader in my career has been David Hart. He has shown a great concern for others and his ability to lead by example. A leader’s ability to get everyone in the organization moving in one direction is essential for a successful company. The aptitude to have a vision creates inspiration for others to follow and reach the leader’s vision. David Hart exhibits this characteristic of a good leader. Having a sense of purpose is the first requirement for a leader (Manning & Curtis, 2015). CEO Hart began his path to become our Chief Executive Officer ten years ago and reached his goal two years ago. A good leader must know how to perform the work, so ability is a must for a good leader. His ability to be the Chief Operations Officer for eight years gave him the chance to show the organization he knew how to have above average performance showing his …show more content…

A leader’s ethics must be seen by their followers as always doing the right thing no matter the situation (Prive, 2012). A person’s honesty must appear to those that wish to follow or the masses will not follow. By having integrity, most leaders possess a charisma where people want to be around them. David Hart has a strong charisma and the ability to connect with everyone from the top to the bottom of the organization. His capability to have concern for others creates an environment of helping others to succeed. CEO Hart has provided stability for our organization after the past CEO was the leader for eighteen years. So, his eight years as the COO allowed for him to show the organization he can provide them a stable leadership. His vitality was seen in his actions as COO and lead to his energy as CEO. A leader must have the stamina to lead others forward because the energy needed to provide others is essential in success (Manning & Curtis, 2015).
