2.1 Bullying-is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, overtime.
Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting, problems.

• Peer-groups-the influence of peer-groups can also contribute a lot in bullying.

• Craving attention-there are some students who crave for attention and the desire to be perceived as brave and confident. These can cause them to bully to get more attention.
2.1.2 Consequences of bullying
• Decreased academic achievement-learners are more likely to miss, skip or drop out of school because of bullying and their grades drop as well.
• Depression and anxiety-student feel anxiety and depression because of the pressure they feel at school from their teachers and other learners.
2.1.3 The process a teacher or a school could do to solve this problem.
Teachers play a vital role in preventing bullying by creating a safe and supportive learning environment. They can teach their students about bullying, how it affects other people, how to intervene when they see it happening and how to report bullying incidents.
Teachers should also be proactive in monitoring their classroom for signs of bullying and intervening when necessary.

2.2.1 Influences of cyber- bullying
• Self- loafing is where people who were once victims turn to bully others to vent out the anger they had, they continue hurting innocent kids.
• A lack of empathy- where technology has opened up space, it has also given the authority of stating any opinion, criticizing anyone while sitting at home. People who do not realize the level of pain that they have might cause to the other person are the ones who become bully.
This makes them feel powerful.
• The victim deserves it. The thought of having the authority to decide who deserves what is one of the main influences of cyber bullying. The learner often feel that they should do something to make themselves feel superior, however they tend to discredit or bully other people to make them feel inferior.
