Most of my family members received their higher education. I respect and love graduate school because of the abundance of innovation and also culture diversity. I appreciate immensely all that school has provided me with. I was assigned a teaching assistant position in different classes in Virginia Tech. Being a TA has been an invaluable experience and I greatly enjoyed the mutual learning process from both students and professors. I love teaching, and my admiration and respect for educators has only grown. The passionate scientists who led our department and their authentic devotion to the education and research sparked my passion.
My academic life seems longer than the average. I didn't start grad school intending to leave with a second Masters, but by the time the end of my first year rolled around, there were a lot of factors nudging me in the direction of switching research groups.
