You’re in the Doctor’s office waiting for your time to come for the yearly visit. An extensive time goes on, your scheduled visit time has passed. Most likely the doctor is still occupied with another patient. This is the time a Physician assistant will come save you from your bothersome delay. Physician assistants work under the supervision of a doctor, surgeon, or medical professional to provide support to a healthcare or medical team.
A small 5-year-old girl walking downstairs through the outside back door of her grandmother’s house in Mexico, sliding down each step of the staircase, set in the exterior connection between the two floors, just to be able to use the restroom on the first floor; a reminiscence that portrays commitment. Uniquely, this one experience defined my character. I’ve replayed this moment in my head many times through difficult times. I’ve had to face fear, anger, disappointment, and uncertainty all alone. Yet, I had never met any other person with whom I could identify with those same trademarks; until I became a medical assistant.
As a child of two nurses, I have always been partial to the medical field. I have chosen to pursue physician assistant studies because of the responsibilities the position holds, such as examining and diagnosing patients and giving treatments. The career stability is also an aspect that draws my attention to the profession. The healthcare field, while stable, is always evolving; new technologies, procedures, treatments, and even discoveries of diseases have those working in the field constantly learning and experiencing something for the first time. I require a challenging professional career, and I believe this field will provide that.
mI have been fortunate in having the opportunity to work as a bank healthcare assistant at Hereford County Hospital. Within my role, I have been able to enhance my knowledge and gain first-hand experience within various of clinical environments, and gain a wider prospective of the roles and responsibilities within the healthcare profession. I feel that I have been able to develop a variation of new qualities that has helped achieve high standards to all aspects of my role. For the last year, I have been successful enough to gain further knowledge in higher education on a foundation degree in health and social care at Worcester University, I have now entered my final year to complete my level 5 in Health and social care. The course will run
Personal Statement Having a successful 8 years of working with children and young people in schools, libraries, nurseries, children centres and youth clubs - I finally decided to move further up in my career and become a qualified primary school teacher because I feel committed and passionate when providing and teaching quality education to children in a primary school setting. When successfully teaching a lesson in geography at a primary school as a whole class of 60 children, I felt satisfied to say that my career ambition and devotion lies in becoming a primary school teacher. Currently I am working as an Early Years Assistant in a children centre, and I am gaining further classroom experience in a local primary school based in Year
I always had an interest in learning about different sciences in High School, and knew I wanted to choose a career where I could help people. However, it was not until I was in my senior year, when my father fell sick, I realized my true interest was in medicine and the human body. The doctors would come into his hospital room, explaining what tests they were doing and what medications they were going to give him. My curiosity lead me to research the illnesses he was being tested for; forms of vasculitis. It was not until after numerous different tests and a lung biopsy that my father was diagnosed with the rare form of vasculitis, Churg-Strauss Syndrome.
Most of my family members received their higher education. I respect and love graduate school because of the abundance of innovation and also culture diversity. I appreciate immensely all that school has provided me with. I was assigned a teaching assistant position in different classes in Virginia Tech. Being a TA has been an invaluable experience and I greatly enjoyed the mutual learning process from both students and professors.
My first experience with the healthcare field was not as a sophomore in high school, I was preparing to add classes to my schedule for the following year and a friend recommended that I take the CNA course at the Jordan Applied Technology Center (JATC). I decided to apply, and the spring semester of my junior year, I was in the program. My professor was very kind and emphasized how working in the healthcare field is different from every other career path because our purpose is to help others. Therefore, as I studied to become a nursing assistant, I was able to realize that I enjoyed devoting my life to serving those around me. That was when I had my first experience with healthcare and when I decided, I wanted to become a healthcare professional.
My role as a partner teacher for the past 2 years has given me the opportunity to observe the best practices in early childhood education and early elementary. I learned the value in providing children with personalized learning opportunities, how to incorporate technology in the classroom and strategies to de-escalate children in difficult situations. I also have experience with working with children and families from diverse backgrounds. To prepare for success in my new role I plan to start brainstorming my classroom norms (routines, ideas for disengage, safe place etc) and family engagement ideas. Also, begin designing my classroom environment and establish my goals as a teacher.
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.
In my professional studies assignment, I examined research on the effectiveness on teaching assistants. As a parent the support my son has had from teaching assistants has been extremely positive. He was during primary school, three years behind his peers in Year 2, however by Year 6 he gained a Level 5 in both Maths and Science and Level 4 In English. I also observed during my teaching practices, teaching assistants deployed in several effective ways, such as helping in managing behaviour; making notes and observations about children to aid report writing. Supporting lower ability and EAL children during mental and oral starters; giving assistance in independent work and providing further explanation and visual aids to support understanding.
I also attended weekly lectures, held office hours, and managed my own grade book. Furthermore, evaluations from my students revealed positive data about my overall effectiveness as a TA as well as areas where I was able to grow.
To be a teacher and have the privilege and responsibility of sculpting the younger generation to be the best version of themselves possible would be an honour. Teaching is a career path which I have always being interested in, and after the completion of my degree I decided to take some time out after the rush of final year to figure out what I wanted to do next. It did not take me long to realise that I already knew. My passion for teaching has been kindled by my journey through the education system - I am lucky to have had positive and memorable experiences throughout education, however, I know that this is not the case for all young people in school.
