Goal 1: Building a positive relationship with children in the center. Working in the early childhood industry, having the good relationships with all children in the center specially in your room is one of the most important things that any educator has to create if they want to work with children. Following the AITSL standard 1 suggest that educator must acknowledge all children in the room and how they learn. Developing relationship with each child in the room is the key for an educator working in the room. As an educator, our responsibilities is get to know the children by communicate with them; engaging them through these activities that was set up each day, improve their knowledge and skills that they needed and interested.
At the beginning of my professional experience in Kindergarten 1, I identified developing secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships, and partnerships with the children, teachers, parents and other educators as a key priority. This priority is supported by both Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). Throughout the first day, I began developing relationships with the children through listening and engaging in discussion about their interests. I also attempted to learn all the names of the children to ensure I valued each individual child in discussion. This would also assist me with classroom management in the following days.
Every dime I earn working at Reynolds Community College and every grant and scholarship I receive will go towards my passion of studying human behavior and applying everything I learn to bringing every community I can reach, a giant leap forward. After receiving my associates degree in Social a Science I decided to take a year off to work towards finding what it is that I really want to pursue. I have searched for that 'something ' that will keep me intrigued and awake all hours of the night without realizing it. I have eliminated the idea of simply working to make ends meet or finding a good job to support my family and "living" outside the 40+ hours of a weekday job. I am pursuing much more and I am confident that I have found a path leading me to wake up before my alarm clock sounds instead of praying for more time.
I want to create an environment where kids feel safe in trusting me to help provide curriculum for them to continue grow in their development. My education and experience have trained me to develop strategies and different ways in helping instruct kids. I also been informed how children learn best through hands-on activities and
In the last year I took on a variety of extracurricular activities in order to confirm my desire to become a physician. I took on a job as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab. This experience showed me how to take the information I had learned from the classroom and apply it to my research. It also taught me that an interest in science alone was not enough for me to achieve my goals or tackle real lab problems, but most importantly it helped me realize that I wanted to do more than just research. My time in the lab taught me that although I enjoyed science, I truly wanted interaction and connection with people and to see the medical application of these scientific techniques.
Being part of Child Development has taught me to work in groups and learn to work with challenging personalities. I have also learned to work with challenging behaviors but through the challenges I have managed to complete given tasks . Being part of Child Development has not only help me learn how to work through challenging situations but ,it has also given me the opportunity to discover my passion for children. Many shook their heads when I told them my goal; to become a preschool teacher. Of course I myself had doubts, however my doubts soon vanished once I started volunteering at a child care center in my community.
I always had an interest in learning about different sciences in High School, and knew I wanted to choose a career where I could help people. However, it was not until I was in my senior year, when my father fell sick, I realized my true interest was in medicine and the human body. The doctors would come into his hospital room, explaining what tests they were doing and what medications they were going to give him. My curiosity lead me to research the illnesses he was being tested for; forms of vasculitis. It was not until after numerous different tests and a lung biopsy that my father was diagnosed with the rare form of vasculitis, Churg-Strauss Syndrome.
Most of my family members received their higher education. I respect and love graduate school because of the abundance of innovation and also culture diversity. I appreciate immensely all that school has provided me with. I was assigned a teaching assistant position in different classes in Virginia Tech. Being a TA has been an invaluable experience and I greatly enjoyed the mutual learning process from both students and professors.
In this role, I will be collaborating with school personnel and families, but also with the students and other community resources. I have been able to observe these skills by attending weekly planning meetings with the seventh grade team and see how collaboration can impact team dynamics. My cooperating teacher is able to learn more about her students in the classes where she is not with them and then adjust her plans for the following days based on student needs. This is something that I am also starting to pick up on and implement in my own role as a future teacher. I am also working collaboratively with my site partner to plan in depth lessons for the week, and taking initiative to put more time into lesson planning so that the students will have access to better resources and more in depth lessons.
Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.
Reflecting on my educational and practical experiences, I appreciate the infinite influence that teachers have on children. I realise that children will take the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom and use it throughout their lives. I know a teacher has to deal with many daily pressures and challenges, in the classroom. However, I feel I require the skills needed to deal with these challenges. As a teacher I hope not only to be an educator but a positive role model, whom the children can look up to and trust.
Abstract As early childhood educators, we the teachers have differing philosophies and approaches to education of our own. There are many different types of early childhood programs. Each program is unique in its philosophies, methods, and program goals. Every one of us early childhood educators is unique in our own way, which makes each early childhood program experience different and special to everyone involved.
Abortion is the most controversial topic, which opponents and supporters are yet to settle or reach a consensus. Abortion touches on the matter of life and death, and this contributes to the failure of grounds between two polar factors. Considering that, abortion has equal supporters for and against it, there is a need to approach the matter holistically and with the interests of the unborn. The status of the fetus is the main reference pointed by defenders of abortion and opponents of abortion. Defenders of abortion believe that a fertilized egg or the fetus does not qualify to be a human being.
The important reason to makes a good and professional early childhood educator is to communicate with children and try to understand them. I did not have any working experience in kindergarten, but I have some experience of taking care of a child due to my mother is a babysitter. The child that my mother takes care is a boy and he’s autism. He is a child that sometimes like lives in his own world and sometimes he is also hyperactive. He likes to sing, dance and write.
STATEMENT OF GRANT PURPOSE Stephen Hill, Spain, English Teaching Assistant I wish to undertake an English Teaching Assistant opportunity in Spain to peruse my passion for teaching and training. With the knowledge and experience I will gain from teaching in Spain, I plan to look for employment opportunities within the U.S. state department. Opportunities that would make use of my knowledge and experience with Spain would be of particular interest to me. I have been complimented on my patience and ability to explain concepts in different ways that accommodate multiple learning styles.
