School leaders should be clear about their expectations and listen to the teacher when they come with concerns. I believe that all teachers want to be listened with an open mind without any perception. If we think that their complaints or concerns are reasonable, we should do what we can do to resolve their issues or complaints. On the other hand, there some teachers who spend time complaining about students who are unable to perform and focus on the solution rather than the problem. School principals should not allow them to poison positive school climate and team environment by complaining about same concerns over and over.
I believe that people do not float to the teaching profession for wrong reasons like making money or other reasons. They come to make a difference. When they get there, many of them realize that teaching is a very difficult job to do well. I think many teachers were great students when they were in school but they don’t realize what it takes teaching until they learn that in the job. First of all, school principals should organize professional development training where teachers can share ideas that work. Providing a mentor will provide novice teacher professional growth. If it is possible, providing video of novice teachers’ lessons will help them to analyze their weaknesses and strengths. Providing resources such as workshop, professional development, the technology regarding classroom management will also help teachers and to feel that they are supported by the school administration. Finally, school leaders should always listen to novice teachers to learn if they need any help and provide instant feedback about their practices in the
