A large group of students in the United States makeup a large population of English language learners. Students who are considered English language learners undergo many challenges in their education, and without the necessary support and resources from their educators it can make it hard for them to succeed. A teacher plays a significant role in the success of a child, and it is crucial for them to be able to provide the proper education to students whose first language is not English. It is also very important for teachers to understand the challenges that these students are facing. Having empathy towards the students allows for the teacher to create better connections and relationships to better help them.
In the classroom, teachers have to teach in a professional manner without disruptions. No pupil should prevent the teacher from teaching, or keep another student from learning. The most effective teachers are those who remain in control of the class and always remember their main duty is to help students learn and behave responsibly. Teachers must continually model through their own behaviour the kind of trust and respect for students that they want students to show toward others. Teachers have the right to ask for and receive help from principals, parents and other school personnel.
Understanding is another important quality I look for in a teacher. A teacher should take into consideration their students, their pupils’ learning speeds, and their
There are many facets and qualities required to be a teacher, but to be an effective and/or outstanding educator I believe begins with knowing your students and planning lessons that fit their educational needs. Knowing the students requires a teacher to have good communication, organization and listening skills. These skills help to create a learning environment in the classroom of understanding, respect and safety, which is needed for students to be receptive and engage in the lessons planned. Outstanding teachers allow students to take ownership of their learning. They also aid students in understanding the subjects relevance to the world and their personal lives.
“To perceive simplicity, to conserve beauty in the heart, to curb selfishness and to have few desires…” (Tzu, Reading the World, page 385) describes the types of qualities a good teacher possesses. We as teachers must put our students first, treat them with respect and allow them to freely explore and discover their full
All of these qualities are very important in the classroom because its what makes a teacher an over all great teacher! Patience is important because it makes sure you stay calm in whatever situation you come across. Being nurturing is a great quality to have as a professional teacher that way the children feel comfortable to go to you with anything they need. Wether it be something they didn't understand in the lesson, or problems in they personal life. Balance is another quality one should have as a teacher, and in my opinion is not an easy one to obtain.
As a future teacher I hope to teach first or second grade. I love that age group and I enjoy the curriculum that is taught in those grades. As a teacher, you must have a set of professional skills and goals to be successful in your career. The professional skills that I intend to exhibit as I go into the teaching field are confidence, communication, enthusiasm, organization, innovation, knowledge of technology, time and classroom management, and flexibility. In five years I imagine that I will be teaching in a first or second grade classroom.
For the three and a half years I’ve been in high school, I have heard many opinions about teacher. Some being suggestions to a underclassman, review of the teacher, and some being very detail rants about a teacher. After hearing about those teacher, I wonder if a student should be allowed to give a grade to a teacher. I think that students giving rating or grades to a teacher is a good thing for many reasons. One of these things include, helping parents with young kids find schools with good teachers.
Critical Analysis on Abortion Google defines abortion as “The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy,” but, it is actually a worldwide conflict with much more meaning. During an abortion, a pregnant woman undergoes a medical or surgical operation that will end her pregnancy before the child has a chance to be born. This topic has sparked conflict across the world between those who stand for it and those against it for years now, and it continues to be argued as time goes on. Opponents of abortion refer to themselves as pro-life, while the people that are for abortion are considered to be pro-choice.
Looking out into the crowd, I saw my mother and grandmother with smiling faces and tears running down their cheeks. This was the moment that we had been imagining and the moment I had been pushing myself to attain over the last for years in High School. As the announcer said my name I walked to the podium and accepted my diploma. This was the most meaningful moment of my life. Now I am one step closer to completing my goal as becoming a teacher.
If you plan on being a teacher when you grow up there are a couple of requirements to do so. If you can’t do your job well, your student won’t be ready for the next year, and if your students aren't ready for the next year the teacher has done a poor job. You need to be educational for the most part. Here are some more ways of what consists a good teacher. Most people think that just by being smart you can be a teacher, but after reading this you won’t think that being a teacher is that easy anymore.
It all started with a generic, probably bought from Goodwill, chalkboard easel, just barely short enough for my toddler self to reach and scribble all over. But what seemed like scribbles and mumbled words were lesson plans and assignments for an imaginary but very real classroom. Even then I knew where my life would take me; to a classroom. It wasn’t until years later that I realized what this all meant.
It is necessary for a teacher to have the students organized and transitions smoothly, but all the other little details, if thought of, help to make for a great lesson. A strong, outstanding teacher must manage the class efficiently and have some level of structure. An outstanding teacher needs to be able to analyze data, set goals, but most importantly have an inner drive to learn more, achieve the goal, and constantly adapt and do better.
Student Engagement A good teacher should know how to engage students in learning activities and be able to respond to diverse students needs in the classroom. The classroom observations I have seen these past week has shown me examples of good teachers. In all the classes I observed the students sat quietly and were always ready to raise their hands and answer questions. In my kindergarten class all the students were really into their assignments and wanted approval of their work from their teacher.
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
