Because of its many complexity’s, the Nevada state legislature has various strengths and weaknesses and some components are both. For example, the 120-day session restriction. The restriction saves the state money, because the longer a session runs the costlier it becomes, even though the state only pays a salary for the first 60 days, they still pay expenses for the second 60. However, this session restriction also forces the legislator to do a lot in a relatively short time. Which can lead to questionable decision making, such as when the time the senate passed 9 bills in seven minutes (pg. 72). Another weakness of the legislature, is the decision to have biennale sessions rather than annual sessions, which has created problems for the

In the extremely passionate memoir Her: A Memoir, written by Christa Parravani, a young lady facing hard times tragically dies, and her identical twin sister strains to survive. Two identical sisters -- Christa and Cara Parravani, always shared a bond, greater than friendship, and sisterhood itself. Despite their rough childhood including being raised by a single mother, and being raped as a young adult (Clara), the two sisters were able to attend good colleges and get more than satisfactory jobs. The memories of their troubled childhood made Cara depressed, which led her to drugs and finally a tragic death at a young age, which Christa is determined to keep from happening to her. I love the books way of getting people to relate to the characters
After H.A.P.P.Y. was over Maggie and I hung out pretty much the entire summer of my eighth grade year. I remember feeling so blessed to have found someone as quirky and outgoing as I was. Finally my freshman year came about and Maggie and I were still inseparable. As I entered high school the weight from middle school had dropped and I was finally feeling confident with myself.
All she remembers is waking up half naked on the beach and alone. Most of the book is her trying to reconnect with the liars, and her trying to regain her memories of what actually happened during summer
"Giles is dead" (Mill operator 125). Giles was one of the various blameless individuals that were executed because of Abigail Williams' witchcraft allegations. It starts amid 1692 in Arthur Mill operators "The Pot" when Abigail, reverend Parris' niece and numerous different young ladies were found by Mr. Parris in the forested areas honing witchcraft, after this they began acting peculiarly. At the point when the law descends on Abigail, she begins blaming individuals for honing witchcraft. This prompts the Salem Witch Trials, which are the consequence of Abigail Williams' accusing of honest individuals.
I am reading the short story “Sheila Mant” by W.D. Wetherell. In this story the boy has to choose between the biggest bass he has ever caught and a girl named Sheila Mont. I will be predicting whether the boy will choose Sheila or the bass. G through out the whole story the boy is trying to decide if he wants to choose the bass or Sheila. Y Bass R does not listen to Sheila R knows a lot about bass R puts work into keeping the bass on the line Y Shelia R Stalks her R ask her out R tries to impress her G I predict that the boy will pick the bass over Sheila because he has put much more effort into keeping the bass then paying attention to Shelia.
Right off the bat we learn that Nea was not the one to play with when it comes to her sister Sourdi. This was learned when Nea told a story from her point of view about how she stabbed a man who messed with her sister. When her mom asked her why she did this, Nea responds by saying in the passage “ But, Ma, He was going to hurt Sourdi.” (83) Sourdi and their mother could not understand how Nea could make a horrible mistake.
I remember his bewilderment, I remember his anguish. It all happened so fast.
I remember feeling like my life was over. Like I am fresh
From January 2011 to July 2013, 112 pacemakers were implanted at the ICL, Hospital Queen Elizabeth II. The longer duration of the pacemaker implantation or the hardware change procedure took was associated with an increased risk of pacemaker infection. The choices of antibiotic before and after the procedure will also play role in protecting the patient from infection. In addition, we found that the use of cefazolin after implantation procedure may reduce the risk of getting infected compared to the other antibiotics. Contrarily, age, preoperative antibiotic choices and gender were not associated with a risk of pacemaker infection.
In 1966, Truman Capote said that the “first essential of the nonfiction novel” is that “there is a timeless quality about the cause and events.” Greg Mortenson’s book Three Cups of Tea exhibits this “timeless quality.” The timelessness of the book helps the reader to make connections to his life and stirs him to action. In this book, the timeless qualities of service to others, overcoming obstacles, and learning by experience can be found and analyzed. The action of serving others is a theme that has been repeated time and time again – in history and in literature.
In the short story “Powder” by Tobias Wolff the author writes a story about a father and a son with a troubled relationship as they try to go home on Christmas eve. During this time period it is about the 1920’s around the time of the Great Depression. When the stock market crashed it affected the father, the son and this story. The obvious conflict is between the mother and the father because the son has been brought home late by the father and has been given one last chance to take his son out and bring him home on time. This paper will discuss how the word usage throughout the story helps us to determine that the conflict is growing and beginning to reach its peak.
One of my favorite memories growing up is how much time I spent reading. Whenever I got a new book I couldn 't put it down. I remember that I would always read on the bus ride home. Reading was something that I liked to do. As I’ve gotten older my choice of books has changed alot, a different genre for each of my phases.
