To start off, technology should not be exposed to children because it makes them addicted to it.
To prove that technology is for the better, I tracked my usage over a couple of days. On school days I used a computer or laptop for around three and a half hours to help with various reports and assignments. Once I had the chance, I used my phone for mainly social media. Over time Americans have become less literate due to the experiences they have endured as well as the technology acquired through time. Technology in the Classroom: Kindle E-Readers Mrs. Ellis teaches 11th grade Advanced Placement English and a regular placement English class at Harford High School. She has been a teacher there for 8 years. This year the school has decided to let Mrs. Ellis’ AP class begin using Kindle E-Readers for students who are required to read many books in one semester. This allows students to purchase books more cheaply, have direct access to a dictionary, and can highlight and take notes without damaging the text. Technology has played a massive role in shaping me in to the person I am today. If it weren’t for technology, I would not know nearly as much information as I do. By using various electronic devices in school, such as a MacBook or iPad, I have been able to study, research, and discover answers to the questions that have been burning in the back of my mind. Technology has also allowed me to further explore topics I learn about in school if they spark an interest in me. For example, my class learned about the topic of genetics in AP Biology.

Looking up from my reading my history book I realize something I have become so accustomed to: the amount of technology being used in the classroom. Everyone is on their school issued iPads. Some appear to be glued to the screen like they’re watching something, and others look like madmen with their fingers flying across the keyboard, trying to keep up with the lecture. The lecture is on a laptop which is connected to a projector, putting it up on a Smartboard. Long gone are the days of blackboards and chalk.
My journey to becoming computer literate began with my gran at a very young age. My gran was a computer fanatic and played various games. Going to visit my gran on many occasions caused me to become inquisitive about the computer world. By age six, I started becoming interested in computer parts and started playing around on the computer.
