Did you know that 16 year olds have higher crash rates than other drivers at any age? Teens at this age have not fully developed their brains; therefore they have higher crash rates. Over 5,864 teens at the age of 15-20 are involved in bad car accidents and this is because they are still kids, they are not developed enough to be on the road with so much at stake. Then we have all the deaths that come from these accidents, 33% of teens die in car accidents every year. But if people started to drive at a later age we would reduce the amount of deaths a year. To many people of this age die in car accidents. Teens at the age of 16 should not drive
5, 864 teens at the age of 15-20 are involved in bad car accidents (according to https://www.edgarsnyder.com/car-accident/who-was-injured/teen/teen-driving-statistics.html ). They are involved in these car accidents because they do not have the proper mind set or stage. Teens are also not properly taught, especially in Utah. If teenagers are going to be on road they need to be taught properly. I think that most states need to have a higher expectancy for their teen drivers, (such as th Larry H Miller Performance Driving School) or they just shouldn’t be on the road at all. With so much at stake and the people at risk teens at this age really should not be on the road.

What this argument fails to consider is that over half of are crashes are caused by people under the age of 18. Teenagers prefrontal cortex is not fully developed so they don’t make the greatest decisions, especially under pressure. Teens can not comprehend the situations properly, they do not understand that other people’s lives are at risk and they need to be able to make important decisions. But they can’t at this age; therefore they are too young to make decisions that could affect other people's
