A four day school week with ten-hour days does not guarantee that your children will get smarter, but may in fact hurt them in the long run. Commonwealth of Virginia research has shown little connection to the hours spent in school and the grades the student receives. Extending the school hours can lead to exhaustion, financial burdens for the family and, the school, and less time for outside activities. You don 't just need more time you need more quality education.
Exhaustion is a major problem, it will take a toll on students mentally and physically. The extended day will not only affect the students, but the teachers as well. This will cause the day to be slow and hard to comprehend if the students can 't stay awake. Coming home and crashing on the couch instead of doing homework will be the result of a ten-hour school day. Long days may wipe all the energy out of everyone. These are signs of exhaustion and stress. No mother wants her child to endure a consistent ten-hour day of learning then come home and be utterly and completely exhausted.

Schools may have to provide higher teacher salaries and provide more resources due to the longer academic day. The long day will mean the school may have to offer more food and or even a second lunch. Parents as also will have to pay for all day childcare on Friday if they work five days a week. Also, parents will have to find transportation for their child before and after school. An upside to a four day week is the school could save money, because there is no school on Friday therefore no lunch and no expensive air conditioning. As I said before the long day will only rack up money, because the school will have to supply more food so the children can stay energized throughout the day.
