History
The Chief Executive of Tesla is Elon Musk, a luxury electric car company. Tesla, which started in 2003, is relatively new to the car industry, a hard industry to enter. However, Tesla has been able to prove that they can break barriers to produce electric cars; even surpassing some car brands that have been staples in the car industry and slowly gaining on others. Due to the slow growth of the electric car industry, Musk decided he needed to take innovation in his own hands. One advantage Tesla has, is that it has allies in the car industry, such as buying General Motors and Toyota plants and making them their own. First, it comes in two different options, standard battery and long range battery. This is a new addition based on feedback from consumers. The standard battery vehicle starts at $35,000 with a range of 220 miles. The long battery vehicle starts at $44,000 and has a range of 310 miles. Because Tesla does not want consumers focusing on the battery pack capacities, they are not disclosing them on these vehicles. These are the specs for the Model 3 single motor rear-wheel drive vehicle. These cars can also be custom designed to feature different paint colors, wheels, and premium interior and materials. Additionally, autopilot and full-self driving capabilities can be added to these cars. Elon Musk has raised the bar even higher for the electric car and the car industry. He takes feedback from friends, family, and consumers to make his product the best possible. As mentioned previously, criticism is used to his advantage when developing his products. His ability to meet with consumers and keep his product line small has helped him take over the electric car industry. Now that the Model 3 is being released at a higher volume than any Tesla before and with innovative technologies such as self-driving capabilities and enhanced autopilot, the rest of the car industry will need to step up their
