Day after day, gas will be emitted into the air no matter what. Whether it’s cars or factories, they both release tons of gas into the air which causes pollution. We learned from our geography class in middle school that pollution is horrible, and it can damage the Earth’s ozone layer. With reducing pollution in mind, some companies such as Tesla, decided to address the problem by inventing electric cars. Electric cars do not need gas in order for it to run, instead, it uses energy stored in its rechargeable batteries. Once the car runs out of energy, all one must do is recharge it by household electricity. Tesla Motor has been around since the past decade. Recently, one of Tesla car model beat the fastest record of ‘zero-to-60’. Tesla and …show more content…

It seems like Tesla’s four-door sedan is not in the top spot for the fastest car to reach 60 miles per hour in about 2.275507139 seconds. To give an idea how fast that is, it’s about the time it takes to pick up a penny from the floor (WSJ). The previous top spot placer was a $1.4 million Ferrari LaFerrari with a record of 2.34 seconds. Reaching 60 miles an hour in about two second is unbelievable. I honestly would like to see that happen in person. Brooks Weisblat, 43 years old, mentioned that if you’re looking the wrong way, you get whiplash and your glasses fly off your head (WSJ). It kind of sounds like going on a really fast rollercoaster, but in a …show more content…

The electric cars can “…jump off the line with surprising violence—and without making a sound” (WSJ). This is because the delivery of juice to the motor is instantaneous, and the motor reaches maximum power immediately (WSJ). Compared to non-electric cars, they usually make a loud sound before they speed off. Electric cars can out race powerful gas-fueled car from the starting line, but the gas-fueled car will eventually surge ahead. That’s one of the disadvantage for electric cars that are bought for racing purpose. Another disadvantage would be overheating the battery of the electric cars by going so fast for a long
