The Calaveras Redskins football team is back in a familiar situation - the playoffs. After a one-year hiatus from postseason play, the Redskins are back and are the No. 2. seed in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV Championships. The Union County Vocational Technical Schools (UCVTS) should have a sports program for students to join. Some students turn down the opportunity to come to UCVTS because no sports opportunities are available. Not many extracurricular activities are available besides clubs on campus. Also, students who attend UCVTS and play sports for their local hometown school can’t enjoy the same school spirt from a hard fought victory as the students who attend the hometown school. Students should play for the school they attend.
The Freshman 15 is a thought that crosses the minds of most future college students, but most say that it won’t happen to them. This fear of losing a toned body after graduating high school bothers some more than others. They realize after high school there are no longer athletics, and they’ll no longer be exercising regularly. Also, when they depart from their parents house and begin to live on their own their eating habits change.
Common core is a set of standards for English and math to teach kids k-12 “Nationwide 43 states and the district of Columbia have adopted the common core standards” -Tully. Many people oppose the standards and so do I “Republicans showed the highest opposition 76% with 38% of democrats says they oppose the standards.” -Osborne. Common core should be discontinued because instead of teaching the course, it teaches the test, there is less flexibility for teachers to adapt to how the students need to be taught, and it does not prepare them for college. If the common core standards are implemented some states will have to take a step back because their standards are actually better than the common core standards.
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.
Wrestling is one of the oldest sports on the earth today. Dating all the way back to 708 B.C.; although wrestling was founded by the Greeks it has become popular in many cultures today. However, as deep as wrestling is in history, the International Olympic Committee made a decision to drop wrestling from the list of sports to be announced in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Seven months later they withdrew their decision to drop it, but the initial decision got many thinking. With wrestling having such an impact in world history, would it in any way be justified to pull it from the Olympics, an event full of influential sports?

In some counties you have to pay for education. There are even some countries where if you are a girl you even cannot attend school to get education.
When I began to plan the persuasive essay, I had a clear research question I wanted to answer, as it was a question the entirety of America had been asking itself in recent months. However, I found it increasingly hard to form a thesis that answered this question.
