In the short story Thank you Ma'am (By Langston Hughes) it shows that. Mrs. Luells Bates Washington Jones, an older lady, helped Roger, a 14-15 year old boy, realize that it's ok to make mistakes, and to learn from them On page one Roger ran up to Mrs Luella Bates Washington Jones and grabbed her bag. But he fell and his legs flew up over him. Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones grabbed him by the shirt. She made him pick it up, and carried him by the shirt all the way to her house. Roger said ¨I'm very sorry, lady, I'm sorry ¨ to Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, and learned from his mistake not to take something that's not yours.
