In the realistic fiction story, “Thank you Ma’am” by Langston Hughes, Mrs. Jones is described as a kind, caring and wise person who helps Roger. Mrs. Jones is shown to be kind because she takes Roger to her house to wash his face and feed him. The text states on page 2, paragraph 10, “The woman said “you ought to be my son. I would teach you right from wrong. Least I can do right now is to wash your face.” This shows how kind Mrs. Jones is to take Roger to her house even though Roger tried to steal her purse. Most people would’ve taken Roger to jail for trying to steal their items but Mrs. Jones took this opportunity to teach Roger. Mrs. Jones is also shown to care for Roger because she takes him to her kitchen and feeds him cake. On page 4,
