College is a place to educate those for higher learning. In other words everyone should have some sense of professionalism. Your typical college is supposed to be a Safe, cautious environment where Students follow the rules and handbook, but Tyler Junior College is not the typical college. Every College has their fair shares of problems but it seems that Tyler junior college will not try to keep the rule breaking under control or enforce new rules. When hearing about problems inside most of the class rooms in this day and age, what is the most common issue that is brought to everyone’s attention?
I ‘m one those people fortunate enough to be able to take classes right outside my own neighborhood at the local High school. GRCC has many evening class you can take there, and it’s nice to only have to drive 2 minutes to class. I also believe that the education is very well structured at GRCC just like many of the Universities around the area. GRCC has just as many facilities for the students to use as most Universities have. Community colleges provide an excellent opportunity for student, who don’t have the money for a university, or are simple not ready to take on the whole university
When one graduate’s college it is usually one of the happiest days of their lives, they finally get to quit their low paying job and get a job that is much higher paying and hopefully a job they enjoy. However most of the time these newly college grads do not get to go buy a new car, or a house, or whatever else their heart desires instead; they have to spend about the next 20 years paying off their student loans. But what if there was another way, so that these newly grads do not have to spend 20 years paying off loans? Well maybe there is because in January of 2015 President Barrack Obama proposed the idea of free community college. This sounds great does it not?
The school is dedicated to student learning and academic and career success through instructional excellence and responsiveness to student, business and community needs. She attended two of them and has a major in biology from the Southern Maine Community College, which makes it easier for her to connect with her audience because she knows what the experience is like. She understands that some people may rule out going to college because of the price, so it’s important for her to inform them that there are cheaper alternatives with community colleges. “ ‘College is the key,’ a young African American student writes for the umpteenth torturous revision of his college essay, ‘as well as hope.’ Oh, I wanted desperately to say, please tell him about community college. Please tell him that help can begin with just one placement test,” she pleads (Addison, 213).
Community College is a new beginning for everyone that enrolls. The access to college allows them to broaden their minds, discover their passions, and push themselves forward. Community college opens doors for their students that they would never have believed that they were there before. It gives the students a chance to explore and see what they are truly wanting to do with their lives. Addison writes, “Just follow any one of the 1,655 road signs, and pop your head inside - yes, they let anyone in – and there you will find discoveries of a first independent film, a first independent thought, a first independent study.
There are many different institutions of higher learning located in the states capital Richmond, Virginia. Some of the top schools in Richmond are Virginia commonwealth university (VCU), Virginia Union University (VUU) and the University of Richmond. When trying to choose which of the three universities would be the better choice you must compare different variables such as the cost, the acceptance and graduation rate, and the overall population and size of the school. After researching this topic I have concluded that the best university to attend in Richmond is VCU.
In my opinion, Rogue Community College strength is advancement of student learning. As a non-traditional student that lost their job in 2009 due to the economy downturn and chose to return to college to obtain a four-year degree after twenty-nice years. RCC was instrumental in connected me with individuals who helped mentor me through my transition from RCC to SOU. Many of my RCC instructors took extra time to answer questions after class and displayed such commitment and respect to all their students.
As the month of November comes along annually, every single high school senior is forced to decide which path they are going to take after graduating. For some, it is easy to choose which college to attend and how to pay for it. But, for many, it is extremely difficult to figure out a way to get the funds for college. So, they choose the community college route. Community college is drastically cheaper than tuition at a four year university.
In the United States a community college is defined as a nonresidential junior college offering courses to people living in a particular area. They are post secondary schools and are also referred to as junior colleges, vocational or technical schools because generally the course of study is for two years. The student can earn an associates degree or certification and/or continue their education by transfering to a four year college to complete their educational pursuits and earn a Bachelor 's degree. Community colleges started in the late 1800’s and have grown and evolved over the years. Today many four year colleges and universities have become so expensive to attend that many prospective students are opting for the more affordable alternative of a community college for their first two years of study where they can save money by living at home and taking classes that will transfer to a four year institution, however, there are students that cannot afford the lower cost of community colleges.
Every student, after he or she graduates from high school will have the choice of attending to a University or a two year Community College. I remember Lee, my friend Joe’s brother, asking me after I finished high school and whether or not I wanted to join to a University or a two year Community College. At the time, it took me a week to answer his question. Similarly, if I was to ask any student where he or she wants to go after they finish high school, one might find that they’ll receive different answers, and for different reasons. For some students it is best to go to community college and focus on getting an Associate’s Degree or taking transferable courses.
Community colleges are important because they provide an affordable alternative to postsecondary education. They offer open admission, flexible schedules, and convenient locations. Community colleges make up a large part of the higher education system, enrolling more than six million students and growing rapidly. They help students become prepared to enter the workforce or transition into a four-year school. But even with all the steps taken to make community colleges accessible to all, there are still thousands of students who cannot afford to attend.
I liked Barnard for its rigorous curriculum, strong biology program, and the fact that it’s a woman’s college. Barnard is academically challenging and its foundations curriculum encourages Barnard students to think theoretically, empirically, and technologically. The students at Barnard love learning, and the courses are designed to be mentally stimulating. This excites me because being challenged mentally is what makes learning fun. With the distributional requirements, I would be exposed to subjects outside of my intended major, such as English and physics.
I was fortunate to discover Rockingham County Community College (RCCC) in essentially my back yard, seventeen miles away. The atmosphere provided at RCCC have allowed me to continue to gain confidence in my abilities and realize that I have a great chance of landing a rewarding job in the future. After my years, in the crowded, somewhat impersonal, lower school systems I appreciate the freedoms and responsibilities afforded me by RCCC. My experience in learning English while proceeding through the American school system was extremely frustrating and difficult. There is no easy answers or easy path to follow when you are grasping at meanings of basic words and phrases.
