During the time period of 1783 the United States successfully won the Revolutionary War, but had also been given the freedom to create a government. The American Colonist re-introduced one of the most radical ideas the world had ever known that resulted in forming a new nation. After the United States declared their independence, and successfully succeeded from Great Britain, the new goal was to create a Republic. The first steps taken towards this goal was the adoption of the Articles of Confederation, later proven insufficient to run the state government.
