Is The Black Lives Matter movement a positive or negative force in civil rights?

“Dear black folks, Your pain matters. Your rage matters. Your life matters!” You deserve unconditional love and safety. The Black Lives Matter movement is a positive force in civil rights because it shows blacks have a voice, it shows a sign of justice and liberty towards blacks, and it shows that black people matter. It empowers them. We’ve all heard the saying “All Lives Matter”. Although all lives matter, black lives are in danger right now. 25% of black people have been shot and killed by police. Some of the victims of police brutality include Samuel Dubose, Tamir Rice, Terence Crutcher, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Laquan McDonald, and many more.What happened to those victims is traumatic. This movement shows that blacks cannot and will not be silenced by those who have the least bit of prejudice in their hearts. It shows that after all black people have experienced with segregation, slavery,racism, brutality, inequality, and more they still manage to overcome it all. With that being said, even though “Black Lives Matter” is a small phrase, it is very powerful. “Black Lives Matter, the rallying cry of the new movement against racist police violence, is brilliant in its simplicity. But more striking than the slogan’s ability to express so much in so few words is how painful it is that its message needs to be asserted” - ISR. This movement has been so incredible to our society. It has escaped the control of the ruling establishment. Not even police repression has been able to stop this
